Wilco Tilt Rotor Issues

Postby Travis » Fri Jan 23, 2009 6:32 pm

I recently downloaded this and for some reason it doesn't have the VSTOL capabilities.  I'm running 64-bit Vista and FS9.  Anyone encountered this issue?  It seems to me that the gauges either didn't load or aren't interfacing with FS.

Any ideas?

You need the latest version of FSUIPC : http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

No, the free version should be ok.

Hmm . . . seems to be a problem there, too.  I downloaded v3.85 (FS9), although I forgot that I had already activated a version previously.  So I do have the registered version of 3.85, which seems to be the most recent one for FS9.  But it doesn't seem to make a difference.  I'm not at home, though, so I don't have access to a yoke or pedals, but it still seems that neither of the rotors are moving back and forth or side-to-side as they're supposed to.  I used the directional arrows, but nothing came of it, and then I tried to take off and it just sped up as per a normal aircraft on takeoff.

I'll try a reinstall when I get home, but I'm not sure if that will cure the issue.  Could it be some internal error with Vista causing some havoc?

I just had a thought: I was setting up AFCAD on my new computer (laptop) and it said that FS didn't input a registry file when it was installed.  I'm guessing this is because I ported it over on my external drive from my old laptop, since I didn't want to spend three hours reinstalling all the mods and tweaking everything to get it how I wanted.  So is it possible that a reinstall would make this all work?

Just so everyone knows: the reinstallation process worked.

My guess is that the product looks for the FS9 config file or the registry file, both of which weren't in my ported version.  But after the reinstall, it works just fine.
