Very first Payware aircraft: Dodosim Realstart 206

Postby Staiduk » Mon Oct 20, 2008 7:37 am

'Lo folks!

I just got my very, very first payware aircraft - the Dodosim Realstart 206.

Ermm - I think I just said that in the title. Oh well, I tend to repeat myself. Oh well, I tend to repeat myself.

;D

Anyway; I love the model - it's the same physical model as the Bell/texron 206 package I already have; and I must say the aircraft flies very well.

However; I'm a little surprised (and just a bit disappointed) that the aircraft is so easy to start - I was kinda looking forward to screwing up and hotstarting; a fun learning experience. ;D But it seems these things - Jetrangers - are easier to start and manage than I expected. (I'm not sure if my R/L fixed wing experience has any play here; I just followed common sense and checklist and it seems quite easy.) I'm gonna have to take a ride in a 206 sometime to take a first-hand look. ;D

However; where the Realstart shines is in a hot restart - starting after a shutdown is turning out to be a nailbiting affair and in that situation I've managed to blow the engine a couple of times - now THAT'S more like it!
LOL - I'm probably the only person I know happy to blow an engine. Heh heh - I like hard accuracy that requires study and practice.

Well; just  quick review saying I'm enjoying my first Payware aircraft - I'll try to upload some adventure pics soon. :)

Cheers!

That's great! I was thinking about getting this aircraft since I am an avid helicopter flyer, but I think I'm going to wait for their Huey to come out.

LOL - Sorry to the mods for having to move this thread; just goes to show what happens when you don't look at the whole forum page.
I didn't even know there was a payware section. :D

Oops!

Anyway Sean, I'd definitely reccomend this aircraft - I don't know about their Huey but I'm not much for military aircraft (If it's the UH-1 you're referring to). However; if it has the same level of quality this aircraft does, you'll be pleased. :)

(Oh - BTW; just a quick side note. I see your signature line there... Get thee a tailwheel endorsement, me son! Join the ranks of real pilots! ;D ;D ;D )

He's doing better than me, so far all I am liscensed for is Humvee, MTVR 7 ton, and 44 Passenger Bus, but I am trying to talk the Colonel into attaching wings to the bus so i can at least say i fly an airliner...

LOL!

Just for the record; he does way better than me too - the instrument rating is one of the most difficult challenges a civilian pilot can take on and one I never achieved.

;) That instrument rating was certainly difficult, but I would also say that it is perhaps the single most important , and most useful rating that you can get.
A tailwheel endorsement would be great, but finding a place around here that does them is a challenge!
