i'm not too sure if this is the correct forum as this is a combination of 2 or 3 different subject headings. Anyway here goes and apologies in advance if I'm in the wrong place - story of my life!!
I'm a late comer to Mega Scenery but have been a simmer for many years. I started the installation of MS Vol 4 Pacific NW Lite Version and managed about 50% OK. Then an error message came up code 82. I aborted the installation. After some research Code 82 is quite common and is a Windows glitch mainly connected to a FAT 32 FILE system (Win XP) which I have. It would appear that a NTFS file system solves the problem and is more efficient. I have two hard drives and I believe I can convert my back up drive to NTFS through the Windows Command Prompt option. That's the background and the questions are:
It says on the Mega Scenery Minimum Recommended System that Mega Scenery will run on a FAT 32 file system but only in summer and winter - I could live with that. If this is the case how do I overcome the error message? Or do I just ignore the error and continue installation?
If I convert to NTFS for my back up drive is there anything I should be aware of before conversion and will a system restore point be effective should I decide to go back?
Hope someone can throw some light on this one please.
Thanks in advance.
