737: Wilco vs. PMDG

... hey & hallo:

Actually I fly most of my times a Posky 737-700 which I really like; I added the Ultimate Boeing Panel which works fine for me, having TCAS and GPWS and all of that stuff.

However, I think about buying either a Wilco or a PMDG 737. As far as the PMDG is concerned I am thinking of the 600/700 NG model.

So my question is twofold:

1.) is either of the both worth any investment (which is not that much, but anyway);
2.) which one is better?

Thanx

I absolutely love my PMDG 737, i wouldnt trade it in the world for anything else. I have never flown with the wilco one though, mind you though, there reputation concerning aircraft aint too good.

I have the PMDG 737-600/700 series. the only thing I am not crazy about is the fact that you can not import FS flight plans into the FMC. Other than that I think it was well worth the money.
I hope you are aware that this aircraft has a auto pilot not like any in the default aircraft. You can not load a flight plan using FS flight plan maker and than expect the aircraft to fly it. That is not going to happen. The only way around this is to make your flight plan than print it or write it down than you will have to program the FMC using the FS generated waypoints. 8-)

Been a while since I posted on here but I thougght I would throw my 2 cents in. The PMDG 737 is worth every penny to get. Its modeled and functions as close to the real thing and if your like me, who will never personally stand or sit in a cockpit of a 737 or 747 then this jet is for you. I don't fly the PMDG 737 alot but I do fly the 747. Wilco is ok. I have their  A-380 but I wasn't really impressed with it. The VC in the A-380 looked cool but most of the buttons and switches are not operational. Thats the beauty part of PMDG aircrafts.

The 737 is published by Wilco but developed by Feelthere.... they make fantastic aircraft. :) And a word of advice; I would only by Pilot in Command (PIC) aircraft from Wilcopub, most or even all others are total crap. For example, the A380 above.

Anyway, external model is NOT very good (Neither is PMDGs IMO, but PMDG wins here). Virtual cockpit, and sound are absolutely fantastic while system modelling seems on par with PMDG with 800/900 expansion.

I would go with Feelthere, as it's far cheaper. PMDG 600/700 = 40Eu, plus PMDG 800/900 = 68Eu which equals just under $100USD. :) Of course, just the 600/700 are underpar with the Feelthere which in itself costs about that amount. :)

... *lol* ... seems to be difficult.

Well, I am not so crazy about the look of the aircraft's outside, since most typically I try flying it from the inside. So what is crucial to me are the systems which I expect as most realistic as possible and the feeling while flying (such as climb rates, fuel consumption etc.).

So: how about FMC, TCAS, Radar, AP and all sort of that things in both, Wilco vs. PMDG?

For the 737-300/400/500, there is no other choice besides Ariane which I've heard aren't altogether too good...For the Nex Gens PMDG is the only one around who's modeled them ;)

They are both very very good in system modelling. I can't spot anything wrong with either. However in terms of sound and feeling, I would go with Feelthere. :)

Looks like it all comes down that if you prefer flying the oldies or the next gen!
