Carenado Pipers...

I love my Flight1 Dreamfleet Piper Archer, but it was originally built for FS2002, and updated for 2004, so it's a little outdated. I've been thinking about buying one of Carenado's Piper aircraft. What's the difference between their Warrior, Dakota, Cherokee, and Archer packages? Which is better, and would anyone recommend one over the other?

Engines,wings and avionics.
Hershey bar wing on the 180...180hp Ancient 60's style avionics.
Archer 180hp Tapered wing newer style avionics...kinda late 80's?
Dakota 230hp Tapered wing avionics about like the Archer.
The Archer and Dakota are like the DF Archer a little outdated by todays standards.
The only one of his I don't have is the Archer...
The 180F would be a good choice if you want Carenado...
But here's the kick in the butt!
If you get the DreamFleet Dakota..When they release the 'Turbo-Dakota' you get that free!
It's a tuff choice! Money wise...$17.00 for Carenado ...DreamFleet....$34.95.
I know this probably doesnt' help...

I went ahead and got the Carenado Piper Archer II. FSX Certified? My arse.....

I counted more problems with it than my old outdated FS2002/FS2004 Dreamfleet Archer. Now i'm PISSED, and feel like I just got ripped off.

No more payware aircraft for me..... >:(

It was the first thing I did, but there are still problems with the aircraft's visual model >:(

My son gave me FSX a few months ago...It is still sitting in the box! This is why.
Any way you could post some screen shots? When you say "but there are still problems with the aircraft's visual model". I'd love too see?
I stick with FS9...At least everything works.

The first thing I noticed was the huge transparent holes under the instrument panel. Next was the flaps handle.

See the Outside Air Temperature gauge?

The windows viewed from the outside

And of course, it doesn't surprise me that the propellor is screwed up

And it DX10 mode, it's completely FUBAR....

I took a closer look at the patch, and it only has a thumbnail for the aircraft selection menu, and replacement panel.cfg & aircraft.cfg files. One replacement gauge, but no texture files, and no new model. So much for the update... ::)

Wow....!
I know texturing is different from FS9 to FSX...But that is what is going on,if see things right?
Did the 'Batch File'(CopyFiles.bat) that was in the zip run? Is that what would use the FS9 files to make FSX files?
As far as DX10... :o

I would surely contact them as Pepper said...

contact them and get your money back if possible, i have the same issue although all me other carenado products work fine in FSX (apart from the mentor which has no panel texture, just gauges on a weird grey surface)

It ran, but i'm not sure what it was supposed to accomplish. I'll try e-mailing them and see what happens...
