A CLS problem

Postby ThomasKaira » Mon Oct 29, 2007 11:33 pm

The problem is: Everything seems to run OK for the first couple of minutes, but after about 2 minutes, the game inexplicably refreshes all the textures and refuses to go beyond 4fps afterwards.

This only seems to occur with the CLS planes I have.

What is the big deal here?

Erm, right, maybe I jumped the gun here.

I have a very nice ATI Radeon X800 installed in my CPU, but I'm actually not too sure if it was even running when I first fired up the sim, because now I've prompted it, the sim is now actually running BETTER then before. :-/ :-X :-/

Yes, my vidcard is a bit weird, but hey, it's worth it for what it can pull off. :P

OK, let me rephrase.

Sometimes, and this is probably a breaking-in issue, my plane seems to outpace the ground textures in my game, so MSFS tries to resolve this by refreshing all the textures, and in the end it starts committing suicide.

I have traced this problem to my vidcard being slightly overworked, and have found that refreshing the card cures the problem.

That help? Sorry for the word choice, it was late, I was tired. ;) ;D ;D
