The Alphasim one is still Work in Progress. There is one other, but it's... well; Complete crap.

The only one I know of is the FSD one...

http://www.fsd-international.com/Hangar/T38/C17.htm

You get the T38 and C17 in a combo package...Check it out... ;)

Alphasim's will be typical Alphasim quality...Decent model, not so decent VC, and so-so flight dynamics... :-X

Although I can't comment on the flight dynamics, from what I've seen of AlphaSim's latest offerings, their VCs are very good!

Agreed!

Alphasim has been pumping out some fairly high quality models lately, and they've made it known that they're working extra hard on the C-17 (Thus, why it's 3-4 months later than the anticipated release ;))

You obviously have not seen the WIP pics then... ::)

Clicky. Mind you, this is still a very early WIP, and already it looks stunning.

They're planning on this one being their best release yet, completely blowing everything they've made out of the water, so they're taking extra care with getting everything right. They're constantly putting the model back into development to get EVERY LAST detail 100% perfect, and the dynamics are being tested by real C-17 pilots.

IMO, Alphasim's releases have been getting better and better lately, to the point where all the payware aircraft I own are AS birds (with the exception of two from Captain Sim).

The Raptor?

The Flankers?

B-1B?

Tu-160?

Even the new Eurofighter and SR-71!

All of those are amazingly high quality models!

Sure, some of their older planes aren't so great (Su-47 comes to mind), but it's usually a model you can't find anywhere else!

Sure, they may not be of perfect quality for the majority of their planes, unlike the CS 757 or PMDG 747 series; but they're still amazing in their own right!

I agree on only 2 of the packages above...The Flankers and the Tu-160...The B1B, I won't even bother with that...the Tu-160 can outperform it anyday 8-)

It is a rendering, but texture quality remains the same regardless. Speaking as someone who has had experience in both modelling (albeit not for FS) and texturing, I'd say they did some cracking work in this cockpit.

Also, I'd say their XB-70, F-117, Vampire/Sea-Vixen, and MH-53 are quite impressive packages by any standard, and the preview (non-rendered, in-game) shots of their upcoming Intruder and Scimitar are just as stunning.

Still, to each his own. I never like people trying to change my opinions, so I will not try to change anyone else's. ;)

Can't argue with a pro... :-/

I've never said all their products sucked...As in anything, there are always exceptions...And I completely agree with that last statement... ;)
