This looks really cool (to see the screenshots go to the bottom of the page).  I was wondering if anyone else has gotten this and enjoyed it and if it was worth the money.  I may consider asking my parents if I can get it but wanted to know if anyone else has had success with it first.  Thanks.

It's quite fun at first, but it CAN get dull fairly quickly. If you do buy it, I suggest getting the FSX version; much more goodies to play around with since FSX has a much higher ceiling. It's not too harsh on the frame-rates (512mb RAM, ATI Radeon 9550 Video card (256mb), P4 3.2ghz single core with FSX SP1 installed; I got around 20FPS the whole approach to land).

The only downside I can think of is the fact that it cannot take off by itself; Only fly glide and land.

And it really can't fly (the engines, do they work I mean)?

And it really can't fly (the engines, do they work I mean)?  I knew there is no real blastoff or anything, but do the engines even work?

Are the really graphics that good and is it functional enough?

That's why I corrected myself ;)

The engines don't work as normal engines do. What Captain Sim did though, is actually very inventive. Instead of the Throttle controlling thrust, it controls the spoiler... Giving you a great deal of speed control on the last few minutes of landing. Full throttle means no spoiler, and when you close it completely, the spoilers come out.

The graphics on the model are downright amazing, and the Shuttle itself is quite functional. If you do buy it, I highly recommend that you do read all three manuals before even trying to land it. It works just like the real shuttle in terms of Aerodynamics, and does require some practice to get that perfect landing (I only had about 2 good landings out of over 20. The rest were all Gear-Failure due to landing too hard. You really have to try and get it under a -100 foot per second descent rate. 500 or so is a Gear Failure).

K thanks!  Yah, that is pretty cool.  Now to talk my parents into getting it for me...
