Flytampa suggestion

Postby Obi-1-kenobi » Sun Apr 23, 2006 11:27 pm

Hey,
I have be meaning to get KMDW from them and I was wondering what would be the second best choice. I'm thinking along the lines of KFSO or KSAN. If any of you have both could you tell me which one of those has the least inpact of FPS, as I am running a pretty low-end system.

Any and ALL FlyTampa's sceneries are well wotrth the money!

and I run FS9 completely maxed out and with 100% Ultimate Traffic...

Ashar, I know your machine can run 100% traffic but by doing that you are actually effecting the performance! Even though you may not notice a "hit", by reducing your traffic to 90% you will not see a difference in AI Traffic and your system will run "more fluid".

Besides, there is not one airport in the world that runs at 100%, well maybe a few but trust me, your machine will like you!  ;D

Why they left the textures un-mipped is a mystery to me.

Because it is a long & tedious process  ;)

I am always surprised that many payware developers do not mip-map their textures. Even freeware developers as it is a simple process especially with aircraft textures.

I mean even a Carenado aircraft usually only has 2 to 3 textures each for its exterior textures, it only takes a minute.  ::)

I have mip-mapped airport sceneries and have gotten cramps in my hand from open, select, mip-map, save, repeat..................
A couple hundred times..  ;D

Hi Guys:

Just a quick question from an idiot (and then one from me hahahaah  :o )

Anyway....

What is mip-mapping and why does it help?

Also, can this be done in Photoshop, How and where do i find the textures?

Cheers

I have ALL of flytampas stuff and its ALL AMAZING!! My favorites are KMDW, KSFO, and LOWW.  MDW is incredibly realistic, I was there a few months ago and it looked exactly like the sim version.  SFO is just awesome, and LOWW is their latest and possibly greatest.

KSAN is one of my favorite airports, though it does seem that all the FlyTampa are VERY detailed and accurate.

I would vote that you get the one you use the most.  You say you have KMDW, I suppose you would enjoy the fun over at KSFO.  My votes are for KSAN or KSFO, they top my list.
