I'm on the fence...

...push me off it. ;)

I got some cash for my birthday/graduation, and I'm considering buying a payware. Mainly a plane. Even though this is gift money, I'd prefer not to spend it all in one place, so I wish to keep my expenses within a budget of $30 or so.

I've narrowed it down to two choices I really want: Alphasim's magnificent B-2A Spirit, and MAAM-SIM's incredible DC-3. Both are within my price range, so like I said, I'm on the fence.

My question to you is, which side of the fence should I be on? The B-2 side, or the DC-3 side? I've made a poll to keep things simple. Lemme know which one would give me the most bang for my buck(s).

When making your decision, keep in mind that frames are a major concern (see my specs in my sig).

Got another payware plane that'll blow me away without breaking my budget (or computer)? Then by all means, tell me about it!

The first payware should always be the RealAir Spitfire, you get some neat scenery with that too.

But, the DC-3 should be excellent, I haven't tried it myself.. Yet! ;D

The MAAM DC-3 is awsome!  great VC, great exterior models, not to bad on framerates, exelent panel and sound, and, of course, the amphibious XC-47.

DC-3.  I dont have the RAS Spit but the Dak is super value.  35 bucks for the DC-3 (passenger and cargo), C-47 (two types), XC-47, and OY-BPB (free download for owners), free scenery from MAAM (you can get it for free anyways, but it comes on the CD), the best soundset of all time (seriously, sounds exactly like the real thing and has the best throttle response of any FS plane), great, detailed manual, and over 100 free textures.

So ya, for 35 dollars you get a whole lot, and unlike most payware it goes to a good cause.

And, its a DC-3!

EDIT!  INase you didnt know, the plane is 30 dollars, the shipping is 5 dollars

Hmmm, I'm leaning more towards the DC-3 so far, mainly because of what Jake mentioned, it's a super value, what with all the free repaints/variations you get.

As for the RA Spit, I would get it (and wanted it for the longest time) but it won't fare well on my system. I asked RealAir myself and was told that my rig is on the borderline for the minimum requirements, so I thought it best to wait until I can score a new PC.

My machine is below your specs and I run the RAS no problem Lazer... only sometimes in high density areas with lots of AI does it take a second or so for the textures to come up!

Oh? Now that's good news! Looks like I have one more plane to consider. ;D
