It's kind of hard to realize how realistic some of the payware and even freeware aircraft are until you actually get in the real thing and know exactly where each switch is even if you've never been in the real thing ever in your life :)

Such was my case last friday night in an embraer erj-135 :)

yeah, i notice it in a boeing 737 sometimes, may come in handy if both pilots suffer from a stroke ;D

True...and with PMDG...I bet one can actually fly down a real 747 in case of an emergency... :o

I severely doubt that Ashar...  ;D ;)

Anyhow, what Jared here says is true; I've flown jumpseat in an Airbus A330-301 and I tell you, it's quite amazing how many of the systems I was familiar with.

:)

Well that's a completely different thing :)
I bet if you put many of the hardcore simmers into any given airline cockpit, they'll be able to do a complete start up from cold and dark. After all they work after the same basic principles, n'est-ce pas?

But is it the same thing as landing a jet with maybe faulty systems (as most emergencies are?)
:)

[quote]
My school will get their Airbus simulator soon, though I'm familiar with their systems, I'll probably just stare at all those buttons and switches and be dumbfounded for awhile
