$30 for a couple of planes.

Anything by Abacus is a piece of dog doo. Don't buy it.

Abacus packages generally are not "just a couple of planes".

In the case of the CAP series, you get the planes and auxiliary flights/ tasks.

There is no one "forcing" anyone to buy anything.  Spend your money wisely.

Of course, by your definition, spending more than $2.00 on any payware package/aircraft precludes you from buying just about ANY payware out there...

I paid $50 for the PMDG 747-400 when it first came out...I've paid about $2000 worth of payware add-ons...I have all of PMDG's aircraft which makes around $250 just for PMDG alone...I don't mind spending my money on quality payware...stuff like Abacus, I don't even bother...Alphasim is reasonable priced Payware with reasonable quality, so I have few of their aircraft... ;) ;)

Out of curiosity, and for my own edification, what was the last FS2004-specific Abacus model that you actually downloaded and test flew (presuming you take advantage of the "try before you buy", and not necessarily of the latest releases, like Commuter Express 2, Airbus Experience, Air Taxi Pilot,  A-380...)?

I will admit that I have tested many of the Abacus offerings, and that the Abacus catalog still includes many models for FS98/FS2000.  I hope you're not comparing the latest FS2004 offerings with those!

Airshow_Lover, if I was you, the first thing I would do is BUY FS2004!  If you want payware, most is only availiable for FS2004.  Also, the quality of freeware FS2004 stuff FAR exceeds that of 2002.  Its not that expensive.  Save a dollar a day and by the end of one month you will have yourself FS2004.

I would recommend just get 2004 anyway.

It may be sometime after FSX arrives before there is anything available to add to it ;)

And also, i think it would be best to get FS2004 anyways incase there are any SERIOUS problems with FSX, such as backwards compatibility (if Miltons stuff doesnt work, ill stay in FS2004).  Also, why continue to suffer in FS2002 for almost an entire year?

Sorry for the late reply;

The last thing I got from Abacus was the A380. I didn't like the textures, the cabin was less than desireable and while I know that there are no real specs on the air file, it flew rather sluggish.

IMO, there are a lot better payware companies, and freeware developers than Abacus. :)
