Could anyone please help me learn to fly the Citation X with autopilot, I can fly the lear jet pefectly fine, everything i need i can see.

In the Citation X I dont know how to set the altitude or the climb rate, I cant even get it to follow my navigation on the radar,  I type in the airport i want, in the learn just I switch it to GPS instead of NAV, I cant do that in the Citation or I just cant find it!

Please if someone could help me I would be so happy

Thanks

I assume you are talking about the Eaglesoft Citation X?
The manual that comes with it pretty much covers all that, and how to set the flaps, and adjust the trim for takeoff...... ;D

I looked through everything, I know how to set the altitude now and such, I cant find how to adjust the climb rate, which is rediculous if you cant...

Yes the Eaglesoft, its my favorite jet, and I need to know how to fly it...grrrr

I think to select the vertical speed, first click the ALT button, then click the VS, then the NOSE UP/DOWN wheel to the right you click nose up til you get it set to the vertical speed you wish to use....... ???

Assuming the plane has an FMC, you don't manually set the VS-the plane will automatically do that according to the climb profile.

Didn't understand a word I just said? Check the documentation, I'm sure it's in there ;)

Bugger that stupid aircraft! It always beeps at me! But yeah I'd try the FMC, just treat it like a normal GPS.

The reason it beeps is because the flaps and trim arent set properly for takeoff.... :o

Yeah this thing is a real pain to learn. But wow can it get around! It kinda shows you why jets like this require 2 crew on the flight deck!

You think that plane is a pain??  I think any corporate jet or airliner is easy compared to the Meridian.  I hate those friggin s/tec a/p's.  Those pre-selectors are like an alien technology to me.  I don't why so many pilots are so fond of the weird little things.

Thanks Cody! but, if, lets say I type in KATY in the GPS and it makes a line from KMML to KATY how do I make the AP follow that line on the GPS?

Lear jet I can do it, just I cant on this, wish i could swap the panels without messing up the virtual cockpit.

In the lear jet you can set the climb rate for like 1800 feet every minute, nope cant do that in the Citation, wich makes me angry, and you can set the mach hold on the lear jet, cant do that in the citation either.

is there a way just to get the 2d panel of the lear in the citation without messing up the VC?

I reckon you keep the panel it has.... Might be hard to learn but flying a real joy. Its been so long since I flew her and my computer problems wont allow me to fly, but when I can I'll be sure to get back to this thread and tell yah how to activate the GPS/Nav modes and altitude..... its so simple after you do it a few times! Read the manual on it thats what I was forced to do... I hope to help you out soon! Cheers, Gunny

EDIT: I did find the panel hard to read half the stuff when I first flew this fine bird, but you get used to it!

You can indeed set the vertical speed, and the airspeed in the Citation X......

To get the aircraft to follow the flight plan click on the FMS button....see image below.....
