Backcourse in PMDG 737NG

Just have a question.  I was flying the PMDG 737 one day on an online ATC session.  It was to Reno Airport.  When I got there, they had heavy winds and gusty conditions, which in turn, gave me a backcourse ILS runway.  Ok so I tuned in the ILS frequency, and set my course knob in the opposite direction.  But approach hold wouldnt turn on.  I tried turning on VOR LOC button, but to no joy, I went past the center line and my autopilot still didnt pick it up.  Finally I gave up and just landed the thing completely by hand.

So the question is, how would you set up a backcourse approach on the bird to capture that localizer?

Rocker_Bird,

Hi.  I was involved in that particualr flight also on ESky as N100JB flying a FedEx BAe 146-200.  What is your call there?  That was my first backcourse landing.

Can't tell you anything about your aircraft though...... sorry....... don't have it.  And yes it was kinda' tricky weather ....particulaly right at the final.

best,

................john

It may come as a surprise, but back course tracking is not available on the 737.
Instead, fly the approach in LNAV/VNAV (can be used to DA/MDA) but monitor the raw data aswell.

I know BCRS is available as a company options on the bigger Boeings (767 for example), but not available on the 737 :)
