Hi everyone,

Would it be worth getting an FS-GS service on a Dell Dimension 8400? I am currently using this PC and was wondering whether FS-GS would be any use on it. The specs are:

- Pentium 4 3.2 GHz
- 1GB RAM
- 160GB HDD
- ATi Radeon X800 XT

Well, my simming experience has forever been changed thanks to Michael at FS-GS. I used their services about 7 months ago and have been pleased beyond compare. I still consider it my best "payware" purchase for the flight sim, and those that know me, know I have bought a LOT of "payware"

Yes, with those specs Michael will be able to make that thing fly!!

I met Micheal over 2 years ago. I requested his services and also gained a great friend here in the Flight Sim Community! I chat with him almost every day & Usually once a week on the phone! He is a real great guy who will work patiently with you until you are satisfied.

I had my old system, a Sony Vaio 1.4, 512 ram with an Nvidia Geforce2 MX/MX 400 and he was able to tweak that thing to the point where I could fly seamlessly!!
I am running it now as my new PC is being upgraded to a 64 bit machine!

One thing people need to realize about Michael's services. Sometimes people get the attitude like, "I know allot about computers, what is he going to do that I can't?" The FS-GS service is NOT about a few adjustments and maxxing everything out, it is a complete re-engineering of your machine. Most of the adjustments made are OUTSIDE of the sim and OUTSIDE of your graphics card! Those adjustments are the easy part. Most of the time is spent getting rid of things that bog down the machine. I am not speaking of programs, I am speaking of many hidden things that cause your machine to not perform at its peak when running the sim! It is something Michael calls "System Unification"! I look at it this way.
I have spent over $2,000 on my machine. Out of the box it runs great, but for a little extra with FS-GS, you have the peace of mind knowing that the machine you purchased to fly in the sim, is now a machine dedicated solely for this purpose.
There is no "I wonder" with his services, all that is left is the real enjoyment............

Thanks Steve and Dave - I was a bit puzzled over whether the services would work with a Dell - computers reluctant to change.  ::)  ;D

I'm really tempted to try the FS-GS services on my machine, but one thing. If your PC gets tweaked specifically for the sim, do programs outside the sim run just was well/any better or do they perform any worse? .

Michael and I partitioned my HD so one side of my PC is for simming, the other side is for reg PC useage, so in my case, everything else outside of the sim works just peachy as well.

That was a concern of mine also since my wife & I shared the same machine.
When the PC boots, you will have a choice of a "Profile".
Once booted, it loads only what the sim needs!

With flightsi being a drive hog (loads of IO ops) and usually needs a system that is top-of-the-line 2 years after the release, most other games will run quite well i think
