General discussion about payware add-ons

Looking to add a payware to my hanger.

Postby Rocket_Bird » Sat May 21, 2005 5:20 pm

Was just looking for another payware aircraft to add to my hanger.  So far I only got AF's F-18, Aeroworx Super King Air, and Aerosoft's beaver.  Anybody have any suggestions?  Ive been looking at Captain Sim's aircraft at the moment, so far they look pretty promising.  I just need an aircraft in which I can toy around with for countless hours and one which will not kill my framerates too bad  :)
Cheers,
RB

Real Air Simulations aircraft seem framerate friendly. I have both the Spit and SF260, and they run well on a modest system... Wings of Power's P-51 is nice too.

If I had to pick just one, I would say the Real Air Spitfire.  It's just 'plane' awesome in it's reality and accuracy.  It may be the greatest payware add-on ever developed.

Also, I just got Wings of Power and am pretty impressed...  ;)

I just aquired flight 1's Meridian.  Its a good fly and I can still average 28-35fps normally although if I pop up the 530, meggits, or S-tec the frames drop to 22-26 average.  I really like it so far though.  Ican tell it's going to be my standard not-in-a-big-hurry bird for trips under 1,000 nm.  I use the Citation X for fast trips although it still takes a little from the realism that the FMS can't be used to enter flight plans waypoints but the main panel sort of distracts from that a little and i can always assime my right seater entered the plan or I "downloaded" it.  (Most FMC's have that capability)

Id like to know a bit more about the aerosoft Katana.  I have been looking at that addon for some time.  Sleek looking plane that I want to eventually try flying in rl.  Is the addon something that will keep me in my seat for hours?
Cheers,
RB

I would say so, Depending where you fly, the more Mountains you fly near the better, or if you have VFR Photo Scenery, this plane is a winner....

Ummm, i fly it a 'LOT' of the time (lol) and i would say its one of the best aircraft ive seen.. (compaired to RealAir products)

The VC, will keep you amused for a short time itself.. Lots of things to find, and experiment with.. GPS Is available by selecting it from the Aerosoft Configurer, so is a female co-pilot..

The model itself is brilliant, well designed and very 'real'..

Ummm heres a few screenshots to help you decide lol

Just bought the Diamond Katana, its awesome!  I love it!  Landing the bird with a constant speed prop seems like a little different experience, and havnt figured out the proper way of doing endurance and slow flight maneuvers with it yet, but whew this thing is fun and gentle.
Cheers,
