If y'all read the PMDG forums on the 1900 they were very clear this is the first in their "express" series. This product line is for those out there (like me) that aren't interested in learning to "fly-by-the-book" all the time. For that reason, they gave us a simpler, albeit, excellent bird for about 1/2 the price of their normal offerings.
Pretty good deal all around. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong (Dennis Miller circa 2002)
BTW, I like the 1900 so much I HAVE begun trying to actually fly by the rules. Great for those shorter commuter hops. Ironic isn't it

The FSD planes sound good and they look good that their website.
Question: do they work with FS2002? I guess that's a "newbie" question, but are FS2002 and FS9 planes compatible?

The 1900 is a Kingair. It's just a big Kingair that holds I believe 12 passengers. The panel is excellent for what it is, your getting disappointed by something that is actually pretty accurate.

Hi, currently I work at Frontier Flying Service in Anchorage Alaska, and they fly Beechcraft 1900C's (used to have a D, but it wasn't cost effective). They currenty have: N575A, N575F, N575G (cargo), N575P, N575Q, N575X, N575Y and N575Z.
What is a 1900?
Basicly a King Air with 1100 SHP PT6's, holds 19 PAX + 2 Pilots, a cargo door in the rear, and passenger loading in the front. 90% of the aircraft is the same as a King Air, including the panel.

With the 1900D make sure you go to PMDG's website and get the update that adds cleaner files to the cockpit.
In reality the 1900 is a great deal in regards to the Express series as stated above. A nice inexpensive aircraft. I have reviewed it recently and here is the review [link=http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=paywaregen;action=display;num=1094442637]Review PMDG 1900[/link]
I gave it a high rating because of it being value based as well as visually well done.
