PMDG 737 questions

Postby jrpilot » Fri Oct 08, 2004 8:06 pm

Why does the FMC always give me a flight plan disc. when I put in my STAR...It says it all the time to..I try to deleate it but it says it can't...and when the route gets to the Disc. it shutsoff LNAV...is this supposed to happen?....also is there TCAS onthe PMDG?

usually the "disco" occurs because the waypoint sequencing is weird, or as it is written in formal text
"Geometry of the next wpts will not allow the FMC to fly the plane without bypassing more than one waypoint"

I suggest you bring up the plan mode and carefully monitor the waypoints step-by-step and do the necessary editing and possible removal of some waypoints

The PMDG 737 does indeed have TCAS, but only if you have the "upgraded" version which includes the 800 and 900 series.

So what you are saying is to deleate the proper waypints as needed and then deleate the disco?

Yes that should fix it, but some STARs in the PMDG 737 are just faulty, which requires some tinkering before they work...

Yes I know what you mean...when should I put in my star and trans for the runway I am arriving at...in my descent or at the latter part of the cruize?..also I know we have discust this before..but I still can't seem to get the descent to go right I always come in to high...so latley I have been ussing V/S to make my decent and not using the VNAV at all on the descent...so here is my question how do gt a good descent using VNAV?...or put it thsi way how can I get it to be the most realistic meaning the way realworld pilots do thier descents...I know they have shoutouts coming from ATC and such but in general.
Thanks
