Mike it would take alot of knowledge to make these planes becasue many are made with the help of real world pilots...but if you made them good I may buy

I don't believe this Mike. ::) After your comments on payware you CANNOT be serious. :o

Even without that you need to serve your apprenticeship first. You've only been involved in this hobby for a few months to my knowledge.

Hagar's right...you have to earn your wings first. It would be pretty hard to get customers if you don't have some sort of established bona fides.

Build freeware first and don't worry about payware until you've got a fair bit of experience. Get 30,000 to 50,000 downloads under your belt first.

Then get ready for somebody to rip you off and distribute it illegaly unless you're using a pretty sophisticated protection scheme.

First of all, don't judge my skills in aircraft design vy how many downloads i get. I've got a ton of planes on my computer that i've made, and if i showed them to some of you guys, you'd beg for me to upload them. You see, i dont just do this for one or two hours a day. I sit at my PC using gmax from 12-7 hours a day, figuring out diffenent things. I can easily do something like this, so don't think my work is "not so great" cause i'm a kid, you're making a big mistake there. ::)

I think of it like this, if some yahoo is stealing my stuff, at least it's good enough to steal. Tell me, if you were, lets say a jewelry theif, what would you steal, some cheap chinese 10$ fake pearl necklace or a 100,000$ real pearl necklace, it's a stupid example, but i'm trying to give a clear idea of what i mean :P

Then post a few screenshots of your work Mike.

As the old saying goes, "put up or shut up" ;)

I also highly doubt that someone would be willing to pay an essentially amateur designer $30 for an aircraft when no one has ever seen one of said designer's creations.

I agree with SaVas...

Mike - we've learned enough to know that "kids" (and this in age, only) can be brilliant flightsim builders.  We know that you don't need to have a gazillion downloads to be a good designer - you can build the best, most detailed, and most accurate "Pou de Ciel" - and you'll probably get creamed for the way it flies (if it's accurate, it'll fly like poop).

If you're spending 7-12 hours a day working gmax, I have no doubt you are capable of some significant magic.  The problem is, you haven't shown your work. so you can pound your chest, but, seeing is believing.

Of course, the Wright brothers had that little problem too.  They told all they flew, but weren't believed, because, except for themselves and their small party, no one saw it happen!

Mike, you missed my point.

I judged your skill not on how many hours you may have put in...but by your demonstrated skill level. At present, your demonstrated skill level is zero. Your actual skill may be quite high, in fact unless you are a total klutz it probably is. Until you release some of your babies into the real world of public opinion we have no way of knowing.

Release a few things as freeware, see how the public reacts. You will find that many people have totally different weighting on what they find acceptable than you do. The resultant feedback can only benefit your evolution as a designer.

I offer myself as an example:

My least complex subject has the most D/L's (6000+ that I can trace).

My worst subject is second (3000+ but no longer available on the web).

My better built, more complex planes are all between 1000 and 2000.

My most fanmail was generated by my worst subject.

Now, it's obvious to me that I am yet to fully grasp what it is that the public wants. 20000+ downloads and I still not quite where I thought I might be. I'm becoming a better designer because the D/L'ing public is demanding better...and I find that I want to give it to them. :)

I agree with what Hagar said. From some of your previous comments I am getting the impression that you are either having money problems or ar just a hypocrite  :-/ . From these I believe that the latter of the two is true. You already mentioned that you have stolen a few planes yourself from other payware designers and now say that you don't care if someone else steals your work, thus proving that money is not your problem. I don't think you really get the idea of this payware thing. As silverfox said, there is no proven evidence of your work so you are not going to get many customers until you do provide this evidence. The whole point of releasing a payware plane is to get a little ca$h for it. if everyone is stealing your work you will end up with one customer at the very most, mabye very few more honest customers. everyone else will just get it for free if they can.
Personally i think you should think this over first before you try selling your work. then after that, mabye you will get a few customers. if you can stop the thieves. ;)
