Well recently, I've become more obsessed with realism in flight simulator, the standard freeware aircrafts, while still being awesome models, tend to bore me after a while from lack of realism. So lately I've thought about purchasing the PMDG 737s, the 737 and 738/9 and the Eaglesoft Development Group Citation X. I would like feedback on these aircrafts as to their realism level, the visual model and features and anything else you care to highlight. I'm thinking about purchasing these models, but I want to be sure my money is well spent and worth it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!

I really hope you're ready to do some serious homework before flying the PMDG 737, it's one of the most advanced addons out there (along with SSW A310), and not the "load and fly" kind of type of aircraft

I like PMDGs 737, it gives the simulator a whole new dimension...just to start the engines is a challenge for beginners.
FMC is nice, although not 100% functional, but very close. You need to master this to fully benefit the many features. But most users will learn it in just some days.

IRS is not functional, which is kinda sad. It's beyond me why PMDG refused to include one of the most important systems of the aircraft....
VC is superb, but requires a fast CPU. All knobs and buttons  are clickable I think
2d panels looks very nice, the LCD screens are clear and easy to read, you canm choose their update rate if you're sitting ona  lower end machine.

The model is stunning from the outside, will make you drool for several minutes, but it's of course an FPS hog aswell.
But what I like the most is: The aircraft flies like a dream. So smooth  and precise, makes every approach a walk in the park.

I've had the aricraft since day one, and it's the best payware aircraft currently on the market -  at least if you strive for realism and quality  :)

Oh and one more thing...PMDG is far ahead of Eaglesoft when it comes to realism and complexity...their CitationX is not in the same ballpark.

If your after realism then you need to get the PMDG 737 and B1900.  Both are top of the line products in every aspect.  I would recommend reading the manual for these products before flight though.  Otherwise your going  to be pretty disappointed in your initial results.

You will only get you moneys worth if you are committed to learning the systems of PMDG's 737 NG.

Flight control is smooth.  Graphics is one of the best out there.  The learning curve is bit overwhelming at first but hey you want as real as it get.  Also, you really have to learn the FMC to fly this AC to its full protential.

As for their tech support forum, it's is very active.  They address major issues and inform their customer in a very consistant and business manner.

Great product from a great group of developer.  The $40 is a bit steep, but hey, look at the product and service you're paying for.

I do believe the 600/700 package does (actually I'm sure, since I had it installed with FS2002 when PMDG released it)

But I don't think the 800/900 add-on package works, not sure however.

hmm, don't know if i want to risk $40 for something i cant even use. only time will tell of my stupidity
