Updates lost

Postby Flying Trucker » Wed Feb 07, 2018 2:35 pm

Good afternoon all...

I had to download all my Pay Ware and most if not all updates were lost when the company forgot to save my e-mails and documents.

Does anyone have the Updates to the VIRTUALCOL DHC-3 Otter
(1) RPM Increase
(2) Carburetor Heat Lever added to replace Toggle Switch

Those are the only two I can remember.

Any help would be most appreciated... <<q

Glad your all sorted Doug, I don't use my Virtualcol Otter much these days as I have the Just Flight offering. I will reinstall the turbine engine version at some point but turbines are a bit of a mystery to me, jets OK, piston no worries, turbines are a black art particularly when starting some of them and they go shooting across the ground, (even worse on water) with no apparent way of stopping the blighter's.

Cheers

Hi Rich

There is really nothing wrong with Jets or Turbines once one gets used to them Rich.

With a Turbine move your controls to Idle...have you ever noticed that the Large Twin Otter on amphibious floats has no water rudders...it has PT6A Turbines and they can maneuver that thing anywhere just with engine controls... ;)

Again thanks for your help Rich... ;)

It's all me with the turbines, definitely a case of looking at the instructions   but at the moment I'm happy with the Gypsy Majors in the Chipmunk. 8-)

Good morning Rich

We have Freezing Rain now...three days of snow and now freezing rain makes for Great Flight Simming...

The Gipsy Major was put in aircraft upside down and backwards...especially in the DHC-1 Chipmunk which by the way started off with wooden spars and partly fabric covered wing.

Second best Training aircraft in the world...the Tiger Moth was the best in my opinion... ;)

Here is a short Link when you get a chance:

Hi Doug from a wet and soggy Cornwall, we did have a strange light in the sky earlier this morning some have said it's the sun, don't believe a word of it the sun is a myth  . over the years I've read quite a bit about de havilland aircraft and motors but I did not realise that the Skeeter helicopter was powered by the Gipsy engine, quite a versatile power plant.

Cheers
