VIRUS PROBLEM QUESTION ???

Postby Jetranger » Sun Apr 30, 2017 11:44 pm

4/30/2017

So heres the situation : I saw that Flight 1 Software had that Freeware Skycatcher for grabs , so I thought I'd go grab it try it out,,,,,

So I used my Desk Top Flight Sim computer to grab it since Flight 1 has that mundane obnoxious process of entering some key code to download it and also the password after that,,,, yada , yada, yada,,

After getting it and installing it along with that SIM CONNECT program included with it,,,,, I was able to test it out for a brief bit then suddenly I'm no longer able to do anything on my Flight Sim computer - nothing !!!

I can't run MALWARE BYTES, at all, and the Flight Sim icon to start FSX it loads the main screen but that's as far as it goes before locking up sitting idle,,,, for who knows how long

Went and Deleted the Flight 1 Sky Cather, tho it took me 3 times to delete the aircraft folder , because the mouse cursor kept turning to that hour glass and would just hang,,,,,,,,,,,

Went into Program files area to delete anything else maybe associated with it,, didn't see anything there,,

I'm starting to think I picked up a VIRIS / TROJAN thru the FLIGHT 1 Web Site, or that SIM CONNECT has been hacked somehow and unknown to them it wreaking havoc on machines as a Secret Virus,,,

anybody else out there who've "recently" downloaded that Flight 1 Software Sky Catcher experiencing any problems or issues ???????????? with your computer ?????

Now my computer run really really SLOWWWW , constantly Hangs up on anything I click on,,, and if I do manage to get a program going,,,,, it hangs then shuts down or goes to a desk top screen with NO Desk Top icons.

Can't start FSX

Can't start Malware Bytes

Will Connect to the internet, BUT, locks up on most web sites and Hangs

By the way This machine I'm sending this message on now currently is my other DESK TOP , right next to the Flight Sim Computer Desk top.

I even tried using the Windows CHKDSK feature but nothing showed up as a problem.

I very rarely seldom ever use the Flight Sim computer to visit the internet or any sites,,,, for its NOT my main communication computer by any means.

OPEN to ideas at this point, for I'm permanently Grounded , this could take days , weeks or months to sort out if its even able to be fixed.

I've already tried rolling back to an earlier Restore date back 4 days ago and that didn't even work either.

This very well could be the end of my Flight Simming for good, I've had enough thru the years of all these silly ass time consuming issues and badd files, Bogus web sites with badd files and spending copious amounts of hours & time trying to fix & resolve issues and the frustration and anger accompanied by this needless horse shit !

This problem started only after I downloaded that Freeware Flight 1 Software Cessna Sky Catcher from the Flight 1 Software web site, and I haven't downloaded anything else from anywhere else on the net with that computer !!

This all started at 3pm Sunday 4/30/2017 and its now 11:30pm 4/30/2017 ,,,, that's 8 hours of my time trying to fix this BS

Tellin ya' I'm tempted to take this computer to a Specialist and see if her can do a Forensics analysis on it and find out just exactly where that VIRUS came from and what file or files and what web site it came from since the only one I visited recently was that Flight 1 Software web site,,,,, and see what he comes up with

If it detected that's it was attached or came from that web site,,, gonna have my Attorney send him a whopping Bill for my 8 + hours time as well as my attorneys time and if necessary court costs as well !!!

Just had enough of this BS as well as everybody else !!!

Anybody got any solutions, considering the computer won't really let me do anything currently, but start it up and see the main desk top screen.

beyond that it just HANGS when ever I try to click on anything and or shuts down,,,,,,

Short of buying a NEW Hard Drive and Spending more copious hours of time, days, weeks, months reinstalling everything from windows 7 to ALL the addon's and special files I have backed up on an External hard drive that have to go in only certain places in proper correct sequence ,,, which takes even more time , hours weeks

I just don't feel its worth the effort anymore, its Ridiculous !

This could very well be the end of the Jetranger and his Flight Simming !!!

Reply and responses will gladly be appreciated and looked at !

Thank You : Jetranger

12:45 am Monday morning now , started this at 3pm Sunday morning trying to fix the issue

anytime I try to go and look, and inspect just about any type of folder or file, the computer hangs and not long after shuts down.

I was in Windows / system 32 folders section looking around , went to check and inspect folders and files for anything unusual and the puter locked up and shut down, and all I did was hover my mouse over a file ????

Also am unable to DELETE a particular aircraft folder that was never a problem ever before ????? system just hangs, goes into program NOT responding and shuts down.

Also its as if something is severely draining MEMORY Resources really badd, of course I could go to the processes tree and look around, but, if you don't know what your doing and to look for then its kinda pointless !!!

This is an absolute chaotic mess I could of done without !!!

My computer and sim were working fine All last week and as of late Friday nite, until Saturday nite late when I went to install that Skycatcher from Flight 1 software in my FSX Boxed edition on a windows 7 64 bit machine !!!

If it isn't fixed my mid week and up and running,,,,, its GOOD BYE FSX Simulator and hard drive , i'll be trashing everything , I'm done with all this BS, enough !!!

5/1/2017 @ 2:45am in the morning - still trying to resolve this VIRUS issue I picked up from Flight 1 Software

Tried without success to run the JRT Junkware removal tool, started to run got 1/2 way thru it and the computer shut down !

After restarting / rebooting,, tried unsuccessfully to RUN MALWARE BYTES it started and got 1 minute and 19 seconds into the full system scan and the computer shut down again !

BUT MALWARE BYTES scan window did show up to that point - that it "DETECTED" 2 items up to that point before shutting down !!!

I'm currently unable to do much with the Flight Sim computer at this point.

Also again any files I click on' majority of the time it'll lock up the computer and at the top says - Windows has stopped responding,,,,,

then when I click repeatedly on the folders window trying to force it to close,, I end up with all the DESK TOP Icons disappearing, and just a photo that's on my Desk Top and NO ICONS !!

Then I have to reboot again and keep trying !!!

going on' 12 hours now trying to resolve this issue problem that I managed to pick up from FLIGHT `1 Software's , and I don't think its their web site, but the "Self Installer" (which I hate using those), for their supposed Freeware Cessna Skycatcher,,,,, which I have managed to delete from the computer.

However, I have serious doubts about that supposed "Sim Connect" installer that came packaged with that aircraft in the installer package.

I have a hunch that "Sim Connect" file has been hacked and lord knows what attached to it,,,, hopefully I'll be able to find out more if I can dig deeper into the issue, if the computer will let me, but I can only get so far at this point :(

very time consuming, and ridiculous to have to go thru all this and pointless and shouldn't be this way !!

Again, the only place that Flight Sim Computer had been on the internet in the last 3 months, for anything, was when I went and downloaded that damn aircraft from Flight Sim1 web site !!

More updates later ,,,,, tired have to work tomorrow..

Finding this out from Steve (F 1 Adminstrator) on Flight One web site

http://www.simforums.com/forums/flight1-cessna-162-skycatcher-for-free_topic58073.html

interesting :

If you see a "SimConnectP3D2.dll" installed by FSUIPC in the "modules folder", you may want to temporarily rename it. "That file has caused a few issues" with the Level-D 767. We do not know why

then theres this that got posted :

Its interesting because with my initial question/doubt that it would work in P3D, you said it worked fine, yet you still had to fix the database issue saying that the database got left out. How could it have originally worked fine for you in P3D or in any sim, when you said plainly that the database got left out? A would be huge mystery to others. :-)
My UTlive was not initializing because I pointed it to FSX SE for a little bit. I pointed it back to P3D but I guess I had to press save twice - once was not enough, but that is all - no simconnect issues.

I will leave this issue on the shelf for now, maybe in time enough people will have the same issue and someone will figure it out. Funny because the 162 in FSX SE works fine for me too. It will be interesting to see if more P3D users have the same issue of no airports in the database. If not, I will figure it out or just forget about it.

***

WHY do they put out JUNK like this then their forum boards fill up with bunch of complaints and issues from those who assumed everything was legit and good to go when clearly it is not ??????

Here is a short video showing you the steps, when to re-boot, etc: https://youtu.be/4v5Rq69bYVY
Here is the long video (a lot better) by the same guy: https://youtu.be/QcJr-z4XfP8
Start by keying 'msconfig', going to BOOT tab, choosing 'Safe Mode with Networking' and go from there. Takes 30 mins. Enjoy it. Life CAN be good.

Sorry to hear about your problem Jetranger. I installed the Flight1 C162 and have no problems with it in FSXSE or my computer (running Windows 10). Have you tried this https://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/eek/ ? The Emsisoft Emergency Kit contains a collection of programs that can be used without software installation to scan for malware and clean infected computers. I'm not a techie but maybe using a virus program not on your problem HD will help.

Hi Jetranger. I downloaded the C-162 last night and used the auto installer. I haven't had any problems with my desktop computer but the C-162 did end up getting deleted.
It started out fine but after 20 approx minutes the engine stopped and I couldn't use anything in the cockpit. No amount of "mouse work" would restart it or make anything else operate either. Too bad, it seemed to be a nice little flyer.

I know this doesn't address your problem but I thought I might add something that others might have also experienced and the accumulated knowledge might help pinpoint a
problem in the program that could have caused your dilemma.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

NAPAMULE, Majority of those programs you listed don'y truly do anything, other than supposedly scan the computer and along with the process actually install phony viruses to get users to further PURCHASE their product !!

As "NOTED" in my above post , I already have a registered paid version of MALWARE BYTES installed on that computer and ""the VIRUS will NOT"" let it run a FULL SCAN !!!

as "Noted" above also I regularly use the JRT Junkware removal tool and the virus STOPS it to from performing a FULL System scan .

I'm NOT going to download all those supposed programs as I highly doubt they'll be able to run a full system scan , without the virus stopping those too just like it does MALWARE BYTES

But thank you anyway,,,,,,,,

5/1/2016 2:06pm cst time

Finally able to RUN MALWARE Bytes in "SAFE MODE" without it being SHUT DOWN !

I'd imagine with all the scenery files and aircraft files as it performs a FULL System scan, it may be well into MIDNIGHT before its actually thru Scanning

I POST what I found out IF, it'll find the culpit of the problem !!

I may call in Heavy Bombers , B-52's and B-24's and B-2 Stealth Bombers to get rid of that Nasty Virus / Trojan / BHO whatever !!

Stay tuned, its about to get exciting !!! :o

Jet, I know this won't make you feel any better, but of note, I downloaded the same program last evening. Test flew the plane last night, and shut everything down for the night. Came up to the office this am, tried again and was greeted with "Not enough Memory to run this program". After getting rid of some extra stuff on the drive, I tried again and FSX loaded with no problem. Flew the plane again and again, no problems. I can't say there is no virus, but I don't detect anything on my computer. The memory problem was I think a back-up (regularly scheduled) that was done and just ran out of room. In any event, I'm going to run Norton again. I hope your problem is an easy fix.
