Back to Spain. At the moment I have just under 30Gig of Spanish photoscenery downloaded.
In some areas of Spain the
openLC does an exceptional job of depicting the actual countryside.
All the more so in that the scenery from
eckard.uv.es comes with some REALLY GOOD mesh.
BTW - That mesh is not buried within the photoreal scenery. You can download and install only that part if you want to.This picture is all the better in that it's from a flat area somewhere south of Lorca
(if I remember correctly).
Left is the photoreal . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Right is openLC
I have almost 30GB of photoreal Spain, and that's only a few small sections of Spain.

Lets face it - The only way to have an area look the way that
you know it should look is photoreal.
That's probably why most of us fly outside of the area in which we live.
For that, you have to strive for believable scenery.
For AllenCS.The scenery above is from a dedicated group of people. Not a company of paid employees.
What this means in reality is that each section, even thought it
is photoreal, isn't without it's flaws.
The countryside, and mountonous areas
(because of the free high grade mesh) are, normally, very very good.
The cities for the most part are flat. Simply flat.
Land in the center of one and you can look around for miles.
And that
is acceptable for free scenery.
If you paid them enough for a decent living, free software could be much better.
But of course it could no longer be free software, could it.
Some people seem forget that companies are made up of people who just want to earn a living. And if the company, its self, can't earn enough money to survive, it goes under.
And if the company goes under,
people get laid off.
As to the "bad & ugly".
This does work for most people. Obviously something on/in my computer is causing a problem.
When this has happened in the past, Global/FTX has resolved the problem quickly. I refer again to
FTX: Vector.
It was so bad that I uninstalled it. About a month later,
not only was it fixed, but it was far better than I could have hopped for.No one is required to pay for scenery, and the scenery within scenery. Become an adult.

"Full Five Season Support"
They invented a new season

Yeah. I saw that too.
On the other hand, some places have more, or less, seasons.
When I lived in Minnesota I found out that they had only two seasons - winter and road repair.
