REX Help

Postby VBonanza » Mon Jul 02, 2012 12:59 am

Hey again guys.

Ok, I purchased Real Environment Xtreme Essentials a couple of weeks ago, it looks great, but I don't know if I am getting all of what I paid for. What I mean by this, is that I don't know if I have it set up correctly, and everything is working as it should. Some of you guys have amazing screenshots with REX, but I have yet to find that kind of weather. All of my FSX settings are on the highest settings, REX is on the highest settings. The REX WX Weather thing doesn't seem to work, it doesn't display a weather radar, like the manual says, it is just a blank white screen. Any advice for an REX newbie?

Also: Off subject a bit, but I have downloaded an ORBX Freeware, the Bowerman airport, and let it install...but I don't know if it installed properly, when I go there it still looks like default FSX.

Can't help with REX but re: Bowerman

From the ORBX/FTX free KHQM product description-"Standalone version only for customer with the full payware FTX-PNW region."

It is included in the Pacific Northwest Demo which can be downloaded from the same ORBX/FTX site.
At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Hi there.

You have to run REX as administrator. The same blank screen happened to me on the weather radar. There are two ways to do it. One is set it up in the desktop shortcut. Right-click on the REX icon and in the Shortcut tab click Advanced... Then mark "Execute as administrator".

Alright, thanks a lot guys, I will download that Demo, and set all to run as admin and see where it goes from there!

To be sincere, I don't know why your problem still persists. On my installation the Administrator rights worked to solve it. Maybe some permissions on files/folders, but I really have not many ideas right now. Maybe in your case it would be better to contact their customer support.

Sorry for not being able to be of more help. Hope you can fix it.

Have you right-clicked the black frame around the white screen ?    It displays a small menu where you click load weather.

It looks like a different layout to my "REX Weather Avoidance" version for my FS 2004.

Mine works OK after clicking "Load Weather", it then shows the Map of the local area in the Flight Sim. (Don't forget to start the Sim first, and pick your location so it knows where you are, then run the REX Weather engine....I have the Icon on my Desktop for quick access).

Paul...Weathering the Storm... :)...!

I gave that a shot, and still nothing. I'm just going to have to contact their support team.
