Need opinions on a nice GA aircraft

Postby mfaulisi » Sat Apr 14, 2012 12:19 am

I'm in the market for a nice GA aircraft to enjoy my new Orbx scenery with. I'm pretty open to anything, but I'm leaning to a piston (single or twin) with GPS.  I like to just fly around and watch for an airport to pop up on the GPS and land to check it out.  I'm really liking the Carenado C337H and the CT210M.  I know a lot of guys here have the 337, but what about the 210?  Any opinions on something else good to explore the small airports around Orbx's NA territories with?

Thanks guys! :)

IRIS Twin Dimond Star and the regular Diamond Star.  They have the G1000 display

Indeed this freeware Cessna C-152 from JustFlight (not FSInsider ;) ) is a must have for the low and slow pilot, it's very nice to use over PNW. You can get it there:
http://www.justflight.com/microsoftc152.asp

If you want a slightly more detailled and immersive aircraft, then I would have two main recommendations:

1 - the payware Carenado V-35, to which you can add the famous freeware "damage mod" that brings damage and wear to the main plane components, and these are kept from a flight to another, just like Accusim planes. This V-35 is nicely modelled and there are some nice repaints available too.

2 - the payware Aerosoft Diamond DA20 Katana 4X, a modern small GA plane which is currently the only plane that can compare to the A2A Accusim planes in terms of features and immersion. Jsut like the Accusim planes, you'll have to pay special attention to your plane that will get old and worn out depending on how you fly it and how you maintain it. Check out this video that presents this plane. From the second half of the video, you get a nice view of the various features of that plane, I think it's pretty cool, and certainly one of the best planes to explore PNW with.
