To answer your question on Post #8...
UTX and GEX do completely different things to FSX. 
UTX gives you accurate roads, autogen placement, 3d bridges, coastlines, new night lighting, landclass data, etc.
GEX replaces your FSX ground textures.

You can google some reviews to find out more.

If you decide to get both, make sure you install UTX first, and then GEX.

I wasn't really into VFR until I installed GEX and UTX.  Now I love taking small props and doing short VFR's.

Me too! There are so many great addons which improve this game, sometimes it is better not to go to pub but buy something new.
