Traffic X

General discussion about payware add-ons

Traffic X

Postby mick1 » Wed Oct 29, 2008 12:51 pm

Not sure if this is the right area for this, but I'm looking for any input regarding Traffic X for FSX.

Worthwhile v. Don't wast the money?
Runs great v. Runs like crud?
Problems w/ prior versions?
Slows framerates to a crawl?

The version for FSX looks to add some additionally awesome depth to an already excellent flight experience.

Thanks,

Mick

Well, it should really be in the payware section. Traffic X certainly looks good, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a good processor and graphics card. Otherwise you would have to turn a lot of the great features off.

Or the AI section. ;)
With all the great freeware AI traffic out there I don't see the need for payware traffic.
Look into PAI, WOAI, and MAIW first. With these packages, you can more easily customize your AI world, they work for both FS9 and FSX, and best of all they are FREE!!!! ;D ;)

Well, just look at their discussion forum: http://forum.justflight.com/forum_topics.asp?FID=9 .... I think you get the message.

WOAI = graphics = 10/10

I agree with the 10/10 vote, especially with the MAIW stuff, those guys go out of their way for the details, and they come with VASTLY improved military bases and afcads and all 3 use installers making setting everything up a breeze! The only downside is that None of these 3 have decent Russian/Soviet AI. For that you need to go to a site called avsim.ru (not the avsim you are thinking of! ;)) The site is in Russian, but at the top they have a tab for english version. The quality of most of these addons is unmatched anywhere! If the Soviets built it and flew it, they have it! ;)

Yep, Military traffic and airbases for just about every airforce and navy in the world! ;) If you ask in the AI section at the top, I know for a fact Kevin Jarvis, (who works for or runs the site) will answer ANY and EVERY question you have on it. ;)
The skies are not complete until you pass a few raptors and f-15s during your flight! They also have Transports, cargo, fighters, bombers, apache helicopters, refuelers you name it! And as I said, their work is top notch!
Google MAIW and check out their site! Very friendly forums there too if you need any help.
And they have a nice map feature for choosing which part of the world you want to download packages for. I believe WOAI just added a similar feature.
But if you want Soviet military and civil traffic the ONLY place to get it is Avsim.rus. It's a Russian site, but has an english translated version accesed by a button at the top right of the page, and I'm 99% sure that it is NOT associated with the other 'A' site. ;)
They have EVERYTHING Russian there, including some of the BEST freeware airports and sceneries you'll find anywhere!
