You know.. some people just can not stand the plateaus and gullys... and refuse to use the mesh.
Its been that way since FS9. I can tell you the 10m USA mesh and world buffer mesh does improve the realistic quality because it makes the hills, valleys and other areas much more realistic in elvation and it does add areas the default mesh does not show, but it is not as much of a drastic change as it was using it in FS9 because the FS9 mesh was really bad to begin with. The FSX mesh is much closer and therefore what you see in the way of change will be a direct result of how well you know the area you are flying and if the mesh changes it enough to make for a better experience.
Here are some examples... just a few
http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az= ... &mode=fullI would not fly without it because I know the Cascades and several other mountain ranges like the back of my hand from the air and the mesh improves the detail of them much closer to realistic flying so the airport issue is secondary to me.
I understand Jason may be working on a way to streamline fixes into his mesh product at a later date which will fix the mesh around airports nut I have not heard anything lately about that.
