Abacus'  Flight Deck 4

General discussion about payware add-ons

Abacus'  Flight Deck 4

Postby Gringo6 » Wed Aug 22, 2007 7:02 pm

I just bought and installed this add-on for FS9. It is great and I really enjoy it. One problem I had was with the Super Hornet. Its ground handling was awful. I looked in the contact points section and found that all three landing gear were set to steer 45-degrees. No wonder. Changed them to the more normal configuration and all is well.

This is just for information in case you have ground handling problems with this fine bird.

I've had FD4 for almost a year and never noticed that.  Goes to show just how much I use the Abacus aircraft (which didn't impress me all that much - more like good freeware than payware quality).  BUT the catapult and arresting system (and carriers themselves) are the reasons I bought the package, so no real complaints.

Plus, I learned how to add arresting gear to other airports, so it is possible (with Notepad) to add cable & catapult zones to anywhere, so you can practice carrier ops on land.  The only bad side is that it would have been nice if Abacus had included that info in the manual.
