Expensive!

Postby CODY614 » Sun Jan 02, 2005 6:45 am

Late last night, on VFR flight from Phoenix to San Diego.
In my new Seneca V around 80 miles west of Buckeye VOR.
To my horror.....The left engine shut down.
Ran through the all the re-start things, but nothing worked!
So I caged the engine and called center and told them I wanted to head back.
When the mechanic got out to the apron at the FBO at Glendale (KGEU)....He tried to get it started, but all it did was blow black smoke!!!
He asked if it had been running "HOT".....
I said...Ummm...welll...
Any way he smiled and mumbled something about  that new Lincoln Navigator he's been wanting and walked away!

Beauty!

I have yet to damage my Navajo. I've been flying well within the parameters of the limitations on the airframe and powerplants. Of course I only have 27 hours on the airframe.
