What are you having problems with? Updating? Compliling?
What do computers and air conditioners have in common?Image
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

What is the problem you are having.
When you run the installer, it will place two icons on your desktop.
The actual program which enables you to edit, compile, etc,,,
and the Update icon.

After it is installed, click the update and it will run. You may be prompted to chose aircraft paint schemes that have changed but it really is for personal preference. What it is done, exit out of the updater. Now click on the Program itself. Click on the "Compile" button. This will now run the program by updating all the flight plans, afcads, aircrafts etc..
Now run the Sim. You should see all the Ultimate traffic everywhere!

PS< You do have your traffic turned on, don't you  ::)

Heya RoSPA_David,

I agree with Fly2e (Dave) and not just because he is a Moderator here at SimV!

Update Ultimate Traffic once before you run it in FS 2004 for the first time.

A couple of tricks that Dave didn't mention when you do updates that I find useful:

When you Click the UT Update Icon on your desktop the UT Updater Window will appear.  In the upper right corner of the Updater there is a Preferences Icon (It looks like a sheet of paper with writing on it).  Click it.  Select "Always create new on existing aircraft" and "Always overwrite existing airports".  Return to the main Updater menu and click Install.  This will automatically install any missing AI aircraft liveries as well as update your AFCAD files without you having to sit there and guess which Updates to install.  This "trick" will save you a lot of time while updating.

Like Dave says "when the Updater is finished, then click the Compile button".  A very important step.  Please don't miss it.

Another tip is to remember that the UT Updater isn't like your AntiVirus program.  You should check your AntiVirus Program Updates about every 2 days.  With UT you Install, Update, and that's it.  The only time that you Update after that is when you Install a new UT Flight Schedule (i.e. Spring/Summer 2004).  What this means is that after you run the initial UT Update it's OK to delete the UT Updater Icon on your desktop.  You can still Update UT from the Main Menu if you decide to purchase and Install a new Flight Schedule.
