fs98 installation

Hello all: Been a long time---I tried installing fs98 again --when it starts I get "illegal operation, fs98 caused an invalid page fault in module dinput.dll " any help with this will be appreciated Bill

clean your 98 disk, then scandisk your harddrive.

It sounds like the disk itself is damaged or the installation program has trouble starting on your computer. What OS are you running?

Thats very odd. It should work on Win98. Sounds like the disk is damaged but I could be wrong.

The first installation works --if I shut down , the problem occurs when I start up again Then it happens every time. I also tried CBS -it takes me thru the startup logo then it disappears & the desktop icons all turn white --it's weird. the disks are ok I installed in my new machine & they work ok.I did a complete restore on the old one before I tried it

Check this out.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/263263Try installing the latest DirectX. Make sure you get the correct one for your OS. You can get it from the Windows Update site.

Sorry I took so long in getting back --loading direct x seems to have worked. Thanks for all the help from you guys ---It's appreciated Bill
