Where did all the Airports go?

I reinstalled FS98. It helped with several planes that weren't working, although a few have lost their sound. Now, however, several of the small airports in Wisconsin from and to which I used to fly, are nothing but bare ground. I'll bet it is something that I did that I shouldn't or didn't do that I should.
Any ideas?

Were they default airports? If you installed them yourself, they would dissapear after your FS98 reinstall.

I didn't do anything to create them. They were just there. I guess that makes them defaults.

When you installed FS did you make a complete install with all the scenery?

Now that you mention it, I did get a message telling me that FS couldn't find a "booster" for the Great Lakes area. What would have become of it?

Did you remove the CD? It's a long time since I installed FS98 but I seem to recall an option during setup to install all scenery areas to your hard drive. The main difference this makes is that you can then run FS98 without the CD in the drive.

I just cranked it up with the CD in. Every airport has runways now, even if some are grass, such as my home town, wild Rose.
I must have missed an option to load all the airports. Is there some way to get them without undoing all of the special airport scenery that I have downloaded?
