Saitek X52 + FS98 = no joy

I've just bought a Saitek X52 and I'm trying to get it to work with FS98. As you can see from the pic above, FS98 sees the X52, but its axes are not shown in the axis list. When I choose the X52 and click OK, the controls simply revert back to the keyboard.

Has anyone experienced this problem with an X52 or know of a way to get FS98 to work with it?
