I'm far too lazy to try to find my cds so let's try to fix this another way first.
Open Windows explorer and navigate to your FS2002 directory. There should be a folder named Flights and a bunch of subfolders. If you can't find the Flights directory you will have to re-create it from cd but I'm too lazy to try to find my cds right now.
If the Flights folder exists you probably have a corrupt FS2002.cfg file.
Go back to your FS2002 directory and make a copy of the FS2002.cfg file (just in case).
Now open the original FS2002.cfg file with notepad and scroll down until you find a line that starts with "SITUATION=". Delete that line, save and close the file and start FS2002. This should reset the default flight to "Meigs".

You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I don't understand what's gone wrong with it. - George Hanson, 1969
