Twin Bonanza by Eric Dantes FS2002 ?

Postby Jamie » Tue Mar 10, 2009 4:04 pm

This is a beautiful Twin Bonanza and wish I could get it to work in FS2002 Pro .  Love the wing views .  Engines won't start and can't use the GPS .  I realize it is listed for FS2004 , but wonder if I can use it without major changes ??
Thanks ,
Jamie

The GPS will need to be edited to the default GPS. As for starting the engines you might need to play around a bit to get 'em working. Most FS9 models won't work in FS2k2 except early ones. Big changes vis-a-vis Gmax and FSDS.

Jamie,

I don't use FS2002 much anymore, favoring FS2004. But I did install the Dantes Bonanza in FS2002 several years ago.

According to my notes, one of the changes I made was to use a .air file from another small twin. Don't remember why, but it may have been the same engine start problem that you're having. Try any Cessna or Piper twin .air file. The Dantes aircraft.cfg file will override most of the important values and it just might work.

Let us know when the engines come to life.

Regards,
JerryH

Hi Jerry and Ozzie ,

May try the air file from another plane .  I also have the Twin Bonanza by Dick Ward so may try that .  I was just searching for a place to purchase FS2004 pro and shall go to that version soon if I can find something other than just a download ( I have a super slow connection ) so want to purchase a new CD ( or CD set ?? ) .

thanks ,
Jamie

Jamie,

RE: The GPS, you can copy the default GPS from any default aircraft.  Here is the one from the Baron.  Just replace Window 2 in the panel.cfg with this or copy it from the Baron:

[Window02]
Background_color=8,8,8
size_mm=230,220
window_size_ratio=1.00
position=8
visible=0
ident=GPS_PANEL

gauge00=gps500x!gps, 0,0,230,220

The .air file is the primary issue here.  I cleaned up the aircraft.cfg and replaced the .air file with the Baron's .air file.  Seems to work just fine.

If you want to try mine, get it here: http://www.flightsimonline.com/mas/TwinFM.zip

Hi Ozzy72 , Jerry H & Milton ,

I had forgotten about this post .  I did go ahead and install FS2004 as well and really like it .  I still have FS2002 and I do thank all of you for your responses .  I have kept the information .
