Erm...How exactly do you...misplace...a country???

I seemed to have lost part of Asia.  Japan only has 1 airport left, Korea is gone and I'm not sure of what others might be missing in action.  I just flew through Tokyo last week and was going to fly there today.  But found it to have disapeared from my list.  I placed my aircraft over the Tokyo area and flew around...Hadena is there but does not show, and no buildings.  Narita seems to be gone completely.  I noticed Korea has gone missing as well.

Any ideas as to what may have caused this...I havent downloaded any scenery in a long time  Done nothing to cause this

Really not in the mood for a full reinstall since I would loose a little to much work :-/

Possibly a corrupt file.  Try the Scanner for FS2002 bgl file problems.  It won't fix anything but it will tell you if you have a corrupt file.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me. Never fixed it, just had to install addons for the airports I wanted back, even new AFCAD files made them appear again.

Scan showed nothing wrong.  Decided just to wipe it out...could use a reinstall anyways.  Now I'm in the process of backing up most of my addons...including 2.5 gigs worth of aircraft

2.5 gigs? tighwad.  I've got 8 gigs aircraft, and I am a battle ax when it comes to deleting addons!!! as for the scenery, I might attempt disabling all scenery areas in the game, restarting the computer and game, and then reactivating all scenery areas.  This will force FS8 to regenerate all scenery indicies, possibly fixing the problem.

I would probably have more addons if my computer was better.  I can't use most addon scenery and some aircraft.  Hardrive is getting pretty full with all my other crap including photography, and Photoshop works  38 gigs just doesnt go as far as it used to

I reinstalled FS and it fixed everything.  Plus I gained about 2 FPS  To many old files I never got the chance to delete from the folders.  Retweeked it a bit as well.  So all is happy in the virtual world again...Just flew from Shanghai to Chicago last night and got some pretty decent surprises
