Mid air collisions

It's clear I didn't hit him. Just look at the gap between the planes...
I even had settings on ignore traffic crashes, but somehow the damage profile recognized the other aircraft and my wing fell off.  :(
Does anyone know what causes this problem and more important: how to fix it?
Thanks.

Don't get mad - get even ;D

Um, it wouldn't be accurate, but maybe you could add Eric Marciano's radar gauge to your Spitfire to keep an eye on nearby traffic - or start using the rearview mirror.  Great pic BTW!

Thanks! But he didn't fly into me, I flew into him, well... at least that's what the plane "thought". I'm sure I didn't hit him. (Pic's taken at the moment of collision  ;D)

No help on this one then?
Oh and thank Ashar, but I like flying better than taking screenies  ;)

Yes, it is the same with buldings too. To do stunts (flying through narrow gaps for example)  it can mean you have to have crash detection off.  ::)

It's not that the contact points are rediculously offset... The spit can fly through pretty narrow things..  ;D
It's just that I was surpirsed to crash into another plane while I had crashes disabled.  :o

Oh and thank you for the technical help... I'll try that some day.  ;)
