start problem

Postby karateka » Thu Jun 30, 2005 3:28 am

hello.

when i download aircrafts for fs2004 for use in 2002 it usually works fine (exept when the modell file doesent work, but that is too hard to fix i guess)

but some airplanes like the YAK-52 ,in vintage section on this site page 33, looks fine but refuses to start?

the engine doesent fire up even using ctrl-E.
and it doesent seem to help that i replace engine data in the aircraft.cfg.

Can anyone help? or is this a modell problem?

thank you  fredrik

Why not just use the FS2k2 model? http://www.simviation.com/fs2002vintage5.htm

yes i actually have that one as well but it doesent look as nice but ok it works.  The main reason I wanted to know if you could fix this problem was actually not the yak but an antonov an-2 which has a virtual cockpit and it had the same starting issue as the yak.

Thank you anyway.

You could try porting the aircraft.cfg and .air files from 2k2 models and adjusting any details such as paint names accordingly. That might be a quick and effective work-around. I've never tried porting an FS9 model into 2k2 though...
Some of the contact points (such as the wheels) will definately need adjusting.
