Compass headings in FS2002

If this has been asked before I am very sorry.
Recently, I had to remove all my FS files and re-install from scratch. I then noticed that the headings were all over the place. For example if the runway was 05L, the heading to land on that runway was something like 174 degrees.
This is driving me bonkers, everything was ok until I had to start from scratch again.
Please help me!!

err.... this sounds weird. Do you have the gyro-drift option enabled? try disabling it. Or maybe it's just an error in the runway. try another airfield.

Not just one airport, the vast majority are just the same.
Never heard of the gyro drift option, where can I find it to see if it's enabled or not?

In game, press the alt key. Then go to Aircraft - Realism.

tis can be caused by downloading BAD AFCAD FILES. open AFCAD open affected airport ... click on FILE then RESTORE AIRPORTS. chances are that affected airport(s) show that they are not original. click on RESTORE ORIGINAL AIRPORT (or wording to that effect). then check it out on Fs.
I've had several tht the AFCAD writer screwed up, but RESTORE ORIGINAL AIRPORT fixes the headings.

I had the same problem just a few weeks ago (see under "wrong headings on active runways" on page 3 of this forum). The problem seemed to have begun after I downloaded an add-on airport. Luckily, I thought I knew which particular airport it was. Just to be sure, I removed all my add-on scenery files and reinstalled them one by one from my backups, checking all the while and obviously leaving out the one that probably caused the problem. This worked.

Hi guys
Well, it's now fixed. It was suggested to me that if I hit the 'V' or 'D' key it would reset the compass and lo and behold, it's now ok.
Thanks for all your suggestions, happy simming.
Hoorah!

Disregard last meesage, loada crap!! I must have picked an airport where the heading was ok to start with.
I removed everything and started from scratch, loading add on after add on. Everything seemed fine as I checked at each add on stage.
Once I'd got the lot onto FS2002, started up the programme and went to fly from Luton, was cleared to r/w 08. When I lined up the heading of the aircraft was about 120 degrees out.
Still baffled but can't be arsed to go through this again. I'll just have to accept the inevitable.

Try this, subject to the usual caveat that they may or may not work:
1. Line up on a default/non addon runway with a known heading (say, 90). Now I suppose your heading indicator will show 50 or something. Hit Shift-Z a couple of times to bring up the information display. Does it show 90 or 50?
If it shows 90 your program is working but your instruments are screwed up. If it shows 50 your program has a bug.
2. Get the .bgl scanner from the library and run it. Replace any bad .bgl files from CD. Run it again. If it still shows bad bgl files you will need to replace them from another source. Don't assume all of the files on your CD are good. Mine has two known bad .bgl files.
3. Check the MS database
