OK, I don't fly the big guys much, but recent experience begs answer to this ... Does AUTO BRAKE overide efforts to stop the plane with joystick (brake) or (.) or reverse thrust?
I just ran the ANTONOV an12b off the end of the runway (10,000ft) at a steady 130kts with regular braking and reverse thrust not slowing it at all.

Just out of curiosity, did you have the auto throttel still armed & set at 130kias?
If your using the autopilot & autothrottles they sometimes have to switched off independantly of each other.
That one always catches me out.
Cheers,
TSC.

thanks, but no, I never (well seldom) employ auto throttle.

Autobrake only overrides manual braking (.), not thrust reversers-you should check to make sure that your joystick throttle is definitely idle (I also hit F1 just to make sure), because if it's anywhere above that thrust reversing won't work very well.

thanks, I usually use f-1 and may not retard throtttle on joystick. that probably was the cause.

Yup, that's it-I had problems with that, hitting F1 but not idling my joystick throttle, so that should solve yor problem.
