AI cargo parking problems

Postby Triple_7 » Mon Jul 04, 2005 8:29 pm

I have added many passenger flights to and from LFPG.  Now I am beginning to add a few cargo flights...But they dont park at the cargo ramps they park in with the rest of the passenger jets at the terminal....What do I need to do, or what do I need to add to the aircraft.cfg to fix this problem...I program each route on my own so its not from a package.

Hi Triple_7,
I do beleive that it is possible to make the Cargo planes start from Cargo ramps from where they taxi to the active. As far as parking after the flight, FS02 does not have the option of allowing the AI or yourself to park in the Cargo ramp. You might want to fiddle around but as far as I know, I highly doubt it. For yourself however, there is a way. When off the runway after landing, ask for permission to taxi to the parking instead of taxing to the gate. The ATC in FS02 might assign you the correct gate, you never know. I don't have FS2002 installed anymore and with less and less people using it, I think this is the best you can do. I must say, FS2004 doesn't have that option either...so no worries!! ;)

You can try using AFCAD to add more parking options at the cargo ramps, but I don't think you can assign specific planes to these locations in FS2002 - it's pot luck. FS9 has the option of defining where the aircraft park if you add cargo spaces with AFCAD2 but I don't think it's possible in 02.

Hi,

As far that I know there exist a program RAFCAD (it could have another name...) that alow you to define the radius of the cargo-parking.
The AI cargo plane is then linked to this particular assigned parking spot.
You only have to fill in a value from the RADCAD list... see the Readme.
This works for all sort of aircraft.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
