 >:( :( ??? :-[

Hi fellow simmers, capt jim here again,

Some time ago I requested help with a sound problem, and I did receive some suggestions, none of which helped.  The problem is...I have no ATC or piolet voices.  I have checked the sound files on both my fs2002 and fs9.  I even bought some new speakers.  The really strange thing is that I do get engine sounds, but only on takeoff.  After takeoff, no more sound. This is really a frustrating problem.  Please help.... Thanks, captjim

We never heard from you after the other thread http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/ ... 1118842325

What have you tried to correct it?

The only think I can think of that hasn't been addressed it to make sure your sound sliders are turned up.

captjim,

Last month when I responded to your sound question, I suggested that your audio CODECs may be corrupted and need to be reinstalled, etc. I don't know if you followed up on that, but if so you may have come to a dead end.

Since my sound problem about three years ago, Microsoft has revised their Knowledge Base. The reference I gave you last month, "Q177252", is now known as "KB177252". If you search on the "Q" version, it won't work. Very sorry if I mislead you or anyone else.

KB177252 has references to other articles, depending on whether you use Win98, WinMe or Win2000. This article was written before WinXP, but it may be general enough to help any XP users.

I just looked into this today and had to come clean. Hope you find a solution to your problem.

Regards,
JerryH
