Need some more info?
What windows are you using?
Did you install directX?
Did you allow the install program to put the shortcut on your desktop or did you make one your self?
Are you using a splash screen program.
Did you do a full install or a custom install wher you picked what to install?
System specs could also be helpfull 8)

Hmmm. Where do we start? As Gary mentioned, some more info would help - like your system specs.

My first thoughts are:

1. Did you try to run it again? If not, reboot & try it. Leave the CD in the drive.
2. If you didn't run it from the setup option when install was complete, did you leave the CD in the drive? If you remove the CD the first time you try to run FS2002 install won't be complete.

Don't worry about the splash screen. If you can't run FS2002 it's highly unlikely you would have any addons for it. LOL

FS2002 should install the version of DirectX it needs to run. You can get the latest version here. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx
I don't know if it will help or not. I would create a restore point before installing it so you can go back using System Restore if you have problems.
I suspect this could be a video card problem. Make sure you have the correct drivers installed for it.
