Gauges that don't work

I have downloaded and succesfully installed two aircraft that i have wanted to try out for years: the DC3 and the C130. Both work fine except for one problem. I can't change the frequencies on the radios of the C130. What am I doing wrong? (This is the Brausch version).

great planes both!

Hi enzo - welcome to the forums.

Perhaps you have a mismatch in the type of radios you have got installed in the panel(s) and what the radio section defines in the aircraft.cfg file.

Make a backup of the .cfg file and open it in Notepad or similar. The radios section should look something like this:

[Radios]
// Radio Type=available, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1=1
Com.1=1, 1
Com.2=1, 1
Nav.1=1, 1, 1
Nav.2=1, 1, 0
Adf.1=1
Transponder.1=1
Marker.1=1

If your panel contains radios with a switchable standby frequency (like the default Boeings) then the settings should be as above. If you don't have a standby on your radios then you will need to edit the second '1' in the Com and Nav lines to '0'.

Save, and that should do it.

;)

Thanks for the quick response. (Impressive.)

The current .cgf file is exactly like the one you suggested. I tried to modify it the way you suggested but that made no difference. The com radio, by the way, works fine, it's the nav radios that don't.

I also downloaded the Boeing 727 and that as the same problem. I read that the C130 used the standard radio stack for the Boeing. Does that make any difference?

thanks again. I'm new to this kind of thing and am amazed that there is this kind of community out there. Shoulnd't you be asleep round about now?

Hi Enzo ,

I just downloaded the Brausch C-130 to see if the Nav radio would work .  I tuned in 111.35 for the ILS 17R at DFW on Nav. 1 and it worked perfectly .  I have noticed that some radios change frequencies on the left ( active side )  while changing frequencies on  the rt. side and is backwards from most tuning .

Thanks Jamie

This is exactly my problem - I can't change the frequency because the gauge doesn't respond to my mouse clicks. Does it perhaps mean  that I downloaded it wrong?

I appreciate the effort.

HI again Enzo ,

I am not sure what would cause them to fail to function at all  ?  Are you clicking on the knobs on the rt. radios ?  I found that I could click on the rt. side , but the frequency would change on the left side ?

Somebody with more knowledge will probably respond  .

thanks for the trouble.

the panel that I've got doesn't have stanby radios. In fact, I have to Shft-3 to get the radio stack which does not have a standby section.

Can you remember which panels you used?

On the other hand, if I don't get the C-130 to work, I'll stick to the DC3 - nothing could be more fun.

thanks for the effort.

Hi Enzo ,

The file that I downloaded was  lc130h.zip  .  I didn't change the panel .  You might try that one if you got a different one .  I can send you a screenshot of the one I have if you have an address you don't miind sending .  If not is OK .
