I noticed that the panel and dial movement in the default 747-400 panel is very jerky. Is there anyway to fix this? I think the panel over detailed perhaps. Can someone recomend a better panel that will not "hesitate" and that is smother moving? My PC specs are below.
Thanks.

f-16,
I found this tip two years ago at the Flightsim Veterans Club, "FSVC Tips and Tricks".
Edit the panel.cfg file for the default 747 and delete the following line:
update_rate=6
The line occurs in three places; sections (Window00), (Window03) and (Window04). The best way to delete the line is to insert a // as follows:
// update_rate=6
Makes it much easier to restore to normal if it doesn't work.
No guarantees, but give it a try and let us know if it helps.
Regards,
JerryH

I made the changes and nothing happened. The guages and dials are still jerky in movement.

Any ideas?

f-16,
My guess is that it increases the refresh rate. The tip that I referenced didn't discuss the details.
Another thing that you probably already know. After you made the changes, did you restart FS2002?
Most changes will not take effect until you force the sim to read the revised cfg files. This can be done by restarting the sim, OR by selecting another type of aircraft, clicking OK (to read the data files), then reselecting the aircraft that you are revising.
Hope that was clear. If you knew this already, maybe someone else will be able to make use of the tip.
Good luck!

I made the changes before I started fs2002. But thanks anyway.
Is there another good 747-400 panel that is good on phrame rates and is not jerky?
Thanks

Sorry it didn't work.
I've never looked for another B747 panel, but I'm certain you could find one in the file library at this site, AvSim, FlightSim, etc.
Good hunting!
