Welcome to the site.
As far as scenery goes put any add on scenery into the addon scenery folder within fs2002. I usually make a folder that is descriptive of the scenery it contains. Ex if I had scenery for Orlando I would make a folder called ORLANDO then you will need a scenery & texture subfolder.
Do not down load anything directly into FS2002 make a seperate folder outside of FS2002 to download scenery or aircraft into.
As far as placing things in a specific spot you have to design the scenery for this or download a scenery that has what you want.
The helicopters I do not fly you have to have a joy stick that has a rudder control and it takes a lot of practice.

Helicopters take lots and lots of practice, a good place to learn is http://members.shaw.ca/hoversafe/Hoversafe.htm they have some great tutorials to download, and a number of their members also hang-out here.
Helis add a whole new life to flying ;)

Ozzy

Ps. Expect to crash a lot whilst learning helis ;D I totalled more in my first month learning them than the US Army owns ;D ;D ;D
