Hi Mr.Mugel. As nobody has answered this I'll give it my best shot. I've never had this problem myself so this is only a guess.
From what you're saying the aircraft are installed correctly or they wouldn't be listed on the menu. Some 3rd party aircraft are very graphics intensive. These models seem to cause a display problem on some systems. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card & try the latest DirectX from the Windows Update site. Make sure you get the correct version of both for your OS. If that doesn't fix it a little more RAM might help.

I've had this exact problem. I contacted the Kittyhawk 737 designers to find out why their 737 models are invisible in FS2002 whereas their previous FFX versions weren't, and it's because the Kittyhawk models are exported from GMAX using the FS9 MakeMDL utility. This isn't compatible with FS2002 so you don't see the model.

The initial release of the PSW CRJ-700 (Air Dolomiti colours) must have been exported using the FS2002 MakeMDL because I can see it in FS2002. However I haven't downloaded the updated Beta version but it may well be that the new version was exported using the FS9 MakeMDL utility.

I don't think there's anything we poor FS2002 users can do about this, apart from beg the designers to go back to using the FS2002 MakeMDL. The resulting planes are I think visible in FS2002 and FS9. (Anybody know different?)

;)

Ah, that would explain it. ;) I should have thought of it myself but assumed these were FS2002 models. (Never assume anything.) It should be possible to convert an FS9 model to work in FS2002 with the MDLC utility posted in the Design section. http://www.simviation.com/fsdesign_utilities.htm
I've tried this with some success in CFS2. I'm not sure what the designers would think about it. If you don't tell them I won't.

Thanks for the tip, Doug! If I'd downloaded MDLC, installed it and used it to make an invisible plane visible, then I'd be a happy bunny, wouldn't I.

;) ;D ;D
