what are the main differences between fs2002 standard and professional?

in pro version theres some more aircrafts.

In short, save your money.  Yeah the few extras are nice, but to be honest, you can download even better planes and the design stuff is also a free download from discreet.com.

If you're really in the market, and your computer can handle it, I saw FS9 in the store yesterday for $29.99.   ;)

I think you already have Gmax, This is included on one of the FS9 CDs. Everything else you need is posted separately as an SDK. http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.asp
