I am having the devil of a job ..just reinstalled 2002 for the umpteenth time but can't sort it out..when I use the top hat to change view an then return to the front view the screen redraws each view in turn before stopping on the front view, this process takes about 3 seconds ..
I have reinstalled the latest nvidia drivers.etc
tried all the different settings but just can't fathom it and its driving me potty!!. FS2004 works fine but gives a dreadful frame rate.. hence changing to fs2002..
I downloaded the de Havilland Dh.89a Dragon Rapide, excellent but this takes slow long to redraw I gave up.

AMD3200
512MB ddr 400
nvidia FX5200 128mb (yes it is slow and i wish I'd never bought it!)

can anyone help ... please

???

Hi Frank, welcome to SimV. Okay checklist of silly things that could be causing the problem.
All background programs shutdown? Especially anti-virus! A good program for this is EndItAll ;)
When did you last defrag your HD?
Have you assigned virtual memory to your HD?

Reinstalling WON'T help with that, so stop before you scratch your cds so smithereens ;). This happens to me too, It only happens the first time I change views. I'd suggest defragmenting and upgrading your drivers, other than that I'm stumped.

>:(
I changed to an older driver set 54.3 and the problem went away!
I suspect the graphics card is not up to it
I had a better sim experience with my old nvidia 440 mx
on my equally older AMD 1.4

I think it's time to move to ATI

are we always going to be chasing frame rates?
I've been doing it since FS4!!!
happy simming to all..
Frank

I wouldn't do that, I've had bad experiences with ATI. I'd get a Geforce FX5200 256mb If I were you.
